How to Soften Leather Shoes

It’s stiff and difficult to wear. So, finding a way to make the leather soften is a demand of time. Most of the people wear shoes gradually to make the lather soften.

If you want to make the process fast, then adopting other methods can be helpful.  There are a few ways which are not only easy but also effective to soften leather shoes.

Leather Conditioner

Treating with leather conditioner gives you the best result to soften the leather shoes. Even you can use it to soft any other leather product.

First of all, buy a quality leather conditioner. You can buy it from a local store. Try to buy that conditioner which has some oil.

It can lubricate the leather to make it more flexible. Take a soft cloth which is also clean. Pour some conditioner on it.

Now apply it on the leather of the shoes. Do not apply too much of it.

Do not pour the conditioner directly on the leather shoe. It can damage the leather. With a smooth circle, you need to spread the conditioner.

Focusing on the ankle and toe area needs priority to make it soft. Another good advice is, you should apply the conditioner regularly, at least once every three months.

It will keep your leather shoes in good shape.

Using Heat Method

Most of the leather acts in the same way with heat as our skin does. Heat makes our skin softer.

Before you adopt this method you must be careful otherwise it can damage the leather. Before you go with this method you should apply some moisturizer.

To use heat for the leather you may use various types of ways. First of all, you can use a hairdryer.

It is a common way to softening the leather. Apply some moisturizer, and then turn on the hairdryer.

Keep this dryer at least 15 cm away. Otherwise, it can damage the leather. Try to put medium heat on the leather.

Don’t hold it in a single point. You have to do it circularly. Using a dryer is also another good way to heat the leather if you are in a hurry for something.

You just need to turn on the dryer on medium heat. Put the shoes into it. Take the shoes out after 15 minutes.

Using Water

There is a solution for them who do not want to use the chemical to make the leather shoe soft. Water is the solution to make it possible.

Take spray bottole that is filled with water. Using distilled water can give you a better result in such a case.

Spray the water on the entire leather surface, including top to bottom. After sitting up the water, the leather will get the moisture.

If there is any excess water, then wipe it out. Take a clean towel for that. Now put the shoes aside and let it dry naturally.

After drying the shoes use some conditioner.

Using Natural Oil

Some people also use a natural oil to make their leather shoes soften. From the various types of oil, you can use olive oil, almond oil or coconut oil.

Before you start, let the shoe dry under the sun for 10 minutes.

Commercial vegetable oil or corn oil is also best to do this job. Take some oil and rub it softly on the leather.

It will make the leather soft and darker after drying them. To get more establishment of oil on the leather you can repeat the process.

I suggest that, ensure the effectiveness of the oil before using it on the whole surface of leather. Choose a small and inconspicuous place to apply this oil in a small portion.

If you can notice that, the oil distorting the leather then does not use it.
